Nat Dobbs is the bullied kid. The kid with the stammer and skinny limbs. The kid who weighs 95 pounds dripping wet and never quite looks you in the eye. Maybe if he did, he'd finally make a friend or two. The last time he tried to fit in he ended up with this pants around his ankles in the middle of a football pitch...on state TV. Moving to the next town just an hour down the road doesn't seem like much of a solution to a lifelong problem for Nat, but his mom Wendy reckons this seventh school will be the charm and his dad Gunther doesn't want his youngest son's pariah status jeopardising the social standing of his eldest, the jock, the stud, the sum of all his hopes...Gunner. But Nat doesn't make just one friend in his new town - he makes two. They just happen to be the school slut and a creepy old guy known to the other kids as Pedo Quincy.Together the trinity of societal rejects set upon a mission - to travel the Path of Totality and witness the greatest point of total eclipse on the planet in Hopkinsville Kentucky, August 2017.And maybe in this moment of ultimate darkness, the unlikely friends will finally see the world more clearly - or at least how they'd like it to be.
